Eastern Indiana Regional Workforce Board
Publishes Strategic Plan

Eastern Indiana Regional Workforce Board is responsible for the planning and oversight of workforce development services in Economic Growth Region 6 made up of Blackford, Delaware, Fayette, Henry, Jay, Randolph, Rush, Union and Wayne counties.  During the last quarter of 2006 the Regional Board has been working on its two year strategic plan.  The plan, which was released to the State Department of Workforce Development on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, is now available for download at the following link.

The Regional Workforce Board encourages comments and input on the plan for consideration by the Board as it sets priorities for implementation.  The Board is particularly interested in suggestions of ways to grow the economy and jobs for Eastern Indiana Region 6, particularly in light of the recent plant closures announced by Visteon and Borg Warner.  Comments may be made in writing by sending them to EIRWB, P.O. The Eastern Indiana Regional Workforce Board serves the Eastern Indiana Economic Growth Region 6 by providing strategic leadership, oversight and management of the WorkOne services for the region.  Among the services currently offered to employers are worker recruitment, testing, worker training, training grant opportunities, labor market information, and customized programs. Job seekers and youth may seek assistance in job training and job placement services.  The Workforce Board and its Fiscal Agent, Alliance for Strategic Growth, have five years experience managing state and federal grants.
